The book is set just after the Second World War when the Black Market was rife and homosexuality was illegal.  It's called 'In the Roots' by Bob Chapman.  It is on Amazon, but the Snooky Trust will have it in stock soon. As for who it's meant to upset - your guess is as good as mine.

Hello All, I wondered what you guys make of this? My Father has written fiction on and off for years. He has two existing books, and is working on another two. Because he has always done it for the love of writing, he decided he would approach a local Dawlish Charity and offer them ALL the proceeds from ALL his books, existing and future.  He offered, in writing, to do all the leg ...

Hello fellow Dawlish.com 'ers I desperately need your help. Last Friday my very frail Father experienced a problem at Lloyds Pharmacy and it was only resolved due to the kindness of strangers. Can I please ask if anyone saw my father attempting to pick up a prescription between 1730 and 1815 on Friday just gone to get in touch with me via private message. Many thanks

10,000? Oh wow. Well that makes it alright then.  You can't deny history. Unfortunately for us, Blair/Bush took us into an illegal war.  We are, in part, responsible for IS. Whether you like it or not, we have a moral responsibility to help.

We refused to help the Jews flee Europe prior to,  and during WWII.   Do we really want history to judge us again?  We could say we didn't know about the atrocities then - we can't say the same about IS. IS victimises Muslims just as much as non Muslims.

Again - well done Dawlish! I was driving up Empsons Hill and saw a sign for free range eggs (£1 for half doz). What amazed me was the honesty box! As I keep chickens I didn't need eggs but I did buy 1lb of runner beans for £1!  They were soooo fresh and lovely with butter on:) Well done Dawlish for having such an honest and open approach to life.  And I can recommend the beans!

I don't have the luxury of siblings.  Why care for them?  Because they gave you everything,  worked hard to provide for you and have been a source of love and support all your life. Maybe not every grown up child is not in a position to help but many more chose not to. We are becoming a very selfish society and if we can't show compassion and care to those who gave us life then it's a sad ...

Grown up children need to take more responsibility for their aging parents.  I care for my parents as father has mobility issues and mother has dementia.   I gave up my job and drive a 200 mile round trip each week to spend time with my husband and 14 year old son.  Yes it is a struggle both financially and emotionally,  but if I wouldn't have it any other way. I don't think I'm some kind of ...

I use mine as bin liners.   They fit lovely:)

We have no concerns re: covents and as for vermin, our cats happily take care of the problem.   Chickens have nothing to fear from cats.  Your average chicken can easily beat up a cat with no manners.
