So, the bottom line is we send £250 MILLION a WEEK to the EU. I bet the staff in A&E at South Devon hospital would love to see some of that money spent on more staff so staffing levels are commensurate with the flow of casualties through their department. Our hospitals are understaffed and scores of thousands of people are dying needlessly every week because the NHS is underfunded. Let's put our ...

I merely give just one example of how all that money could have been put to better use.

I rest my case.

What a typical response from Mrs C! A really very unpleasant person.

Well I for one do NOT think it was a great investment. It was an utterly shameful waste of taxpayers money. If the BBC want a concert then pay for it from the money we have already paid them through the licence fee! There are so many other worthy things the wasted money could have been spent on.

I couldn't agree more! Why put dog pooh in a PLASTIC bag that will take thousands of years to degrade and then toss it into the hedgerow or, as you quite rightly point out, hang it on a tree. Although utterly disgusting, it would be better to leave it and NOT use the plastic bag but far better still, bag it and take it home OR don't have a dog in the first place!

Tickets are NOT free when you have to pay the ticket master £8.50 for each ticket! Park and ride is £11 per person so, as they cannot afford £44 they are paying £27.50 to park in Powderham grounds. Who is getting all ...

Hi Jelly, I think you have summed up Dawlish very well. I live on Stockton Hill and that is a bit of a climb but still accessible without using my car!  Anything above this would involve you needing the car for even the shortest trip to town. The train links are excellent, I travel all over the country for my job and use the train for most of my journeys. I also use the train for shopping in ...

@Gary Taylor , we are drowning now, inside the eu. drowning under rafts of needless rules and regulations, which we appear to slavishly follow when nowhere else in europe does! let's put the billions to better use to improve our country for everyone. to improve the health service, education and care for our elderly, to house all those who need housing and to lift all children out of poverty.
