I had a vision today Dawlish was pedestrianised and the town died, so they moved the main railway line inland and built a by- pass around Dawlish with the help of the regenaration money!!!! Sainsburys put all their prices up because they now had no competition. Sorry folks mad moment!!!!
Wriggler and Mugonhead you are both right, the majority of traders are aginst this. The strand could do with being paved as in Teignmouth with no kerbs but coloured pavers to demark areas, parking one side (lawn) with wall being removed, but I dread to think how far the roots go from the large chestnut trees, the pavement can then be widened to accomodate mobility scooters wheelchairs and ...
at least 1 person on council has some commonsense
I dont know who owns it, but some years back it was privately bought, part of it as you say forestry commision offices also some other small businesses are there
Wow Lynne, will that make the Council move
much better Rainbow 1
Can you speak proper English please, because you certainly cannot do street talk
It wont work because of the logistics of the strand even the business"s dont want it. They are struggling now that would just finish them off. We are not Teignmouth/Newton Abbot.we are one street with shops, the favoured option from what ive heard is parking on the lawn side and make the pavement wider on the shop side. by by wondering.
Not totalpedestrianisation, wont work
I know people who have been waiting far longer than that!!!!!!!!
