Dawlish Manor Gardens Play Park was the site of a significant arson attack in July 2023 , shortly after its official opening. The incident occurred in the early hours of 14 July at Barton Hill car park, where four vehicles belonging to Dawlish Community Transport were destroyed in a deliberate fire. One of the vehicles was a bespoke-designed minibus with 5,000 miles on the clock. The charity ...
BOO HOO's Posts
What get's me is the ridiculous cost of rail tickets vs the crap service you get for it. 21st century and still an archaic train system running on steel tracks.
Most probably angling on a tax payers funded jolly out to Kyiv, in my opinion.
Teignbridge District Council (TDC) , led by the Liberal Democrats, has faced significant scrutiny over systemic failings, particularly highlighted by a 2023 report from the Local Government Ombudsman (LGO) . The report found seven serious faults in TDC’s handling of a standards complaint against councillors from the South Devon Alliance (SDA), including breaches of the law, internal rules, and ...
Hopefully the money will go towards saving more of those poor migrants trying to escape the ravages of Europe and especially war torn France and get to our shores so they may be adorned with as many gifts as the British Government can muster from the tax payer's kitty, Bravo.
How about spending the money on things that would make living here better for all. All the council seems todo is follow in the footsteps of central government and spend it on their own pet projects and waste the rest, in my opinion. Dawlish has gone from being a very nice seaside town to a complete sh@thole over the past 20 years and it continues to slide further down with the assistance of the ...
UK Government’s actions increasingly seen as serving elite interests over public good , with multiple reports indicating systemic failures in governance, accountability, and democratic integrity. Trust in government at record lows , according to the National Centre for Social Research, as public confidence in the political system has plummeted due to perceived disconnect between leaders and ...
Glorious Sun Rise this morning from Dawlish. Shame the rest of the town looks like a bomb site.
@1263 - Well said. https://www.torbayandsouthdevon.nhs.uk/uploads/annual-report-and-accounts-2023-2024.pdf
Just a walk along the beach between Dawlish and the Warren will show you how poorly maintained the sea wall is, which must be a reflection of many area's of sea wall that are there to protect the line from damage.
So the cost to do work on the Manor House would be described as HUGE I presume if £5k is large.
Well it looks like the cctv installed through the Town as a deterrent is working like a charm then, yes I am being cynical. CCTV in Dawlish Town Centre was primarily installed to enhance public safety and support local security efforts. The system aims to deter crime , monitor high-traffic areas , and assist law enforcement in responding to incidents. As part of broader town centre security ...
The primary beneficiaries of delaying local elections appear to be existing political incumbents , particularly Labour and Conservative councillors in areas where elections are postponed, as they avoid facing voters during a period of low party popularity. According to analysis, Labour and the Conservatives are expected to suffer losses in local elections due to declining support since their ...
Well that is all fine and dandy for those who are mobile. Call me paranoid but is the Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust trying to close it down like they did back in 2023!!!!!!!!!!
This town just goes from bad to worse as the years roll on, in my opinion.
Teignbridge District Council has provided financial support to developers for link road projects through mechanisms such as underwriting contributions and securing funding agreements. For the Dawlish urban extension, the council secured £4.9 million in government grants and £1.3 million from developers to fund a £6.2 million project, including a new link road and Sweet Violets Bridge, which ...
Dawlish has been in a state of chaos for nearly a decade now and the council does not help with the utter downward spiral it has been sent in, in my opinion.
@burnside I would have thought it would be the food rather than the camera but that is just my opinion.
Police crack down, what a joke. Just seen three thugs all hooded and masked up on SUR RON's or similar shoot passed me in Dawlish must have been doing at least 30mph. Cops round here are an absolute joke. If you do see one they are in their vehicle windows up shooting past.
Most probably the same two who are frequently seen on there black e-bikes with all their black gangsta clothing and handbag strapped across their chest. When they are caught, ha ha yeah most probably not with the Keystone cops we have round here, but if they were. Get some wooden stocks put on the tiny section of The Lawn that is left and place these two little thugs in them and allow people to ...
Mine went down last few years due to a change in how I use the water I have paid for, why pay these greedy water companies twice. Remember - to save money do not waste the water you use for bathing or doing the dishes just by throwing it down the drain. It is quite clear to see that your sewage bill is the main culprit. Need I say anymore as to how you can save on you water bill!
An existing oak tree, but it is okay to lay waste to acres of agricultural grade land for multiple large housing estates!
@1263 , very succinctly put, mate. I could not have put it better myself. I feel these days the police are all about ticking political and woke spreadsheet tasks of their monthly todo list's. Rather than being guardians of the peace whose position is to:- "I (Name), of (Address), do solemnly and sincerely declare and affirm that I will well and truly serve the King in the office of constable, ...
Inspiring an evening of peace and community and a punch up down the Lansdowne later to finish off the evening ha ha ha
Well, other than the Carnival event they must have visited a different Dawlish to the crapper I live in. 20 years ago it was a beautiful and well maintained and cherished Town but over the last 2 decades the councils have run it into the ground whilst continually increasing the rates, in my opinion
Police, we have police down here!!!!!!
This Town just continues to spiral down the crapper, but the cost's continue to spiral upwards and for what!
5 weeks lead time to see a G.P. Just as well I do not live in a City rather than a sleepy coastal town.
ALREADY VOICED MY COMMENTS ABOUT THIS ON ANOTHER POST RELATED EXACTLY TO THIS ON DAWLISH.COM.
And in future those in charge of the school might learn from this young lads endevour to may be ask the students before they decide to implement changes. Considering the school's sole purpose is for the well being and education of said students, in my opinion.
I must be living in a different Dawlish as 'you will love the beautiful setting of The Lawn' seems a far difference from my Dawlish where the Lawn looks somewhat different. Also 'vibrant array of shops', my Dawlish has betting shops, charity shops, over priced nik naks and shoe shops with a smattering of convenience stores. I must find out where this rather stunning sounding Dawlish is, ...
Have to pop down and see them, they had some nice quality garden tools and chainsaw's last and at a pretty good price considering they looked almost brand new. I believe they will even source gear for you if it is not currently in stock.
They ask for the opinions of the town's folk and always do the complete opposite as long as it can waste as much money as possible and continue the rapid downward spiral of decay to the town, in my opinion. Observations over the past 20 odd years living in Dawlish.
Does that mean they will fix all the large pot holes or just put signs out for them to avoid falling in. I assume it will be the latter knowing anything todo with Dawlish, unlike Newton Abbot and Teignmouth.
I experienced anti social behaviour and bullying for over 12 years on a regular basis and reported all these incidents to the police and they literally did nothing at all. My confidence in the Police is less than zero. In the local area there have been drug/alcohol related crimes for years and if anything they are getting worse. The only time you see any police is when they either flying overhead ...
@Dawlish Against Censorship - well put.
Cops actually doing their job, no- I don't believe it!!!!!!!!!!
Believe that and you will believe anything in my opinion.
