Dawlish becomes just a footnote in the expanded Exeter province. Expect the town to go rapidly downhill.
Still waiting outcome of rosies " petition " to reinstate the bridge next to the manor for the brook. Network raill , it would cost ,"hundreds of thousands" to redo the bridge and subsequent work....its not the Forth Road Bridge were talking about.!!! Perhaps they should change their advert to 5 go painting bridge in Dawlish, probably cheaper than the marketing cost for stupid adverts.
Strange that some yobbo would carry a can of petrol around just to obstensively torch the car just to possibily remove fingerprints.? I ain't no sherlock but would assume police would check local cctv in petrol stations to see if anyone on film filling up a can.
Dawlish residents should not complain about this as only about 30% of the electrorate actually voted in the local elections so you get what you vote for ( or not). Expect glowing reviews from the gazette and usual claptrap from councillors about how good this has been for dawlish.
Massive photo op for Lib Dems "working for dawlish" accompained by dawlish gazette saying how it was a triumph with ,"thousands turning out".
Isn't there cameras on the strand?
Guess its for the bicycle race round dawlish which resulted in traffic carnage last time.
And will they rename it "Park" if they play Brazil?
Whats to stop dossers staying in the library overnigut?
The lib dems were elected for dawlish but the big talking point is that 70% of the electorate did not vote, seems they dont give a toss about dawlish one way or the other
Yes, Think the gazette circulation has fallen of a cliff, notwithstanding the price of this paper the disappearance of readers letters and most of all the boring columns of Wriggley, Heath and Stride who continue to pontificate as if the public does not see through them for the charlatans that they are.
Perhaps he was voted that by Dawlish lib dems as a distraction as they have nothing else to crow about.?
No scrutiny !!!..Gosh he will fit right in with the dawlish lib dems.
Did the gulls kill it ? The text would allude to say they have something to do with it. Time these seagulls were culled back, far too many of them in the town fouling cars and properties.I know they are protected but the loss of even 1 cygnet far outways the overpopulation of the gulls.
Pat hackett and gary taylor quotes from lib dem leaflet "They are good at listening and taking action to tackle concerns ". Green candidate getting stuck in clearing the brook. Lib dems- Listening but not doing anything. Green candidate - on the job in the brook. Need i say more?.....
Council election coming up and the greens getting stuck in ....Lib dems gone silent i guess the origional photo of wriggley at the brook is long out of date
What they dont tell you is that a significant amount of council rate increases is to pay the gold plated pensions that councillors will get. Wriggley has his 3 jobs being topped up by the under pressure ratepayers. The logical decision is to change the pension scheme to the contribution scheme rather than the benefit scheme the same as the majority of the population have, but you never see ...
Funny how the police try dampen the report down as if its a minor incident when reading the report it seems these drunken hooligans were running riot in the warren. Number of arrests reported 0.
Focus on dawlish leaflet just through my door, lets review. Pretty unsubtle headline dawlish lib dem candidates OR gosh..reforms candidate from newton abbot as if newton abbot is away in the next county. Considering pat hackett is a previous LABOUR councillor from the wirral and the reform candidate used to live and work in dawlish. Its a poor try at outrage unless you are a sheep and that ...
So in summary Wriggley, Foden and Dawson have all failed to get results , welcome to the world of dawlish Lib Dems.
@lib dem watch, I agree sbout the dawlish apathy about the numbers that vote is pathetic but the number of people i talk too when mentioning the looney greens does indoubtably sway their voting intentions. Even though these are local elections people will not vote for the greens in any great numbers There is also the fact that even should green locals be elected and interested in local issues ...
The looney quota on the council is full.
Whats the story about the duck enclosure? overun with weeds what an eyesore for visitors to the town. Heard a whisper the warden had been let go. Do any of these " prospective" councillors give a damn about this town or just interested in their gold plated pensions.
Unfortunately yes, so its a straight " fight" between taylor and rivers. Wont last ten rounds.
The cost to council would be £2k / year plus , but the council dont want to pay this. The lib dems spent taxpayes amount of £4.7 million in projects to get a benefit of only £47 thousand...." Reduce costs to the taxpayer" stated by not taking it on.? Can't wait to next april to see this reduction on council tax. ! £90k spend alledgely on upgrades to manor house but cant afford £2k for newhay. ...
Syed Jusef "advising " Devon and Cornwall police on hate crime. Next we require a woman advising the police on rape, a jewish person advising the police on anti-semitism et al. If the police need "advising" on these issues then we are in real trouble. Who writes this guff in the dawlish news or is it just cut and pasted from dawson and jusef.
Instead of pledging to celebrate local communities fix some of the issues in dawlish instead
One of the wooden spars on the bridge has broken and a couple of cones placed to warn the public so the debate is : A) will the council take over 3 years to do something like reinstate the other previous bridge crossing that was removed.? Or B) will Rosie raise a petition to get it fixed. Remember folks its your votes that count....
Surely not carer ...as the latest "fair deal for dawlish " lib dem leaflet has all the councillors expressing their concerns about the brook ......oops !!! they dont say anything.
Good to highlight this, plenty of shady characters hang around outside the co-op
Lets have a look at the green party leaflet regarding Scott Williams It stars off with the phrase "hard working" slightly different from lib dems "working hard" but basically the same bland phrase as if other councillors are not working hard. Scotts top prioritites are the usual vague promises e.g improving potholes across dawlish, that wont happen the lib dems have failed on that for years, ...
If you have not had your lib dem comedy leaflet through the door recently consider your self lucky but iwill give an overview for you. Lets start with the title of "fighting "for a fair deal which is very apt for Gary Taylor" as most people know his background. It says him and Pat Hackett have " a record of getting this done " obviously the public did not think so with gary as he lost his local ...
And we get one of these gangreene wallapers elected as deputy for dawlish......
Contact Rosie Dawlish and she will start a petition.
@carer " goverment policy " applied to both the tories and labour, but as labour currently in power i mentioned them regarding food banks and current incumbent stamer, If the tories were in power i would have mentioned them. "Conveniently forgotten" are you trying and failing to make a point.
Is this about Martin Wrigley and his dawlish achievements.?
So we have a green deputy mayor, are his policies the same as gangergeen leader Zac e.g all illegall immigrants to be given money and housing, getting the UK out of nato, all drugs to be decriminalised , downgrade the UK trident system, ban horse racing, etc etc . Looks like the lunatics have taken over the aslyum......
