This has been getting worse since Sainsburys opened and those shops have tried campaigning for limited free parking to put them on a level playing field, Im afraid pedestrianisation will most probably make it worse not better and these closures might happen, then what more charity shops?
Park Road next to pet shop
Id like to think that will happen but somehow dont think it will, its the only way for town business to compete with Sainsburys., I personally think the money should be spent on a general tidy up replacing the footpaths with new paving and adressing the Lawn and Brook + Tucks Plot. Why can nothing be simple
So Pedestrianisation is not cut and dried out of 361 responses 180 for 181 against, todays front page of Gazette, so now they are suggesting a compromise traffic free between 10-4 with the exception of emergency vehicles and public transport, I dont think thats what the 181 voted against a majority is a majority even if its only 1
Charity shop FACT
I agree with everything you say Cosy, there are more reasons to like Dawlish than not, we are not the only place to suffer from neglect, and there are far worse places to live. We can all have rose tinted memories of places we visited years ago but unfortunately with age reallity kicks in. By the way off topic Threshers is to become another charity shop!!!!!
what!!!!!! like the moaning minnies on here not just EOD
There is work being down on the viaduct at the moment and the bridge is also going to be replaced made of a material that will withstand the effects of saltwater. There is also a regeneration of Dawlish in place but how long that will take----------- I agree Dawlish has been allowed to deteriorate, but I still love living here and live in hope that it will get better before I depart this world
Have heard today it was Force and sons with Emerald Decor in 2nd place
you have Dawlish United, Dawlish Town AFC would have to change their name and you would have to start at the bottom of a local lge and work up again. Where would you play as Dawlish United have towns pitch now, best forget it and support United
