Do you know if the work on the Whiteball tunnel has been completed? It was due to be finished today. If it hasn't then FGW trains will still have to use the SW line, which adds at least an hour onto the journey. Add another hour on because of using the coach link between Dawlish and Exeter.
Anyone needing to travel by train to London this week from our end of Devon is going to find it an arduous and very long journey. I go up to London most weeks for my work and have used that line since the work on the Whiteball tunnel as FGW sent most of their trains that way. I was told on Thursday by rail staff that the work on the Whiteball tunnel is overrunning by two days so it will be chaos on Monday and Tuesday as all the FGW trains will have to start from Taunton. They should have done that years ago instead of patching up the wall. They will have to do something similar now if we are going to keep our railway line.
