Would it not be possible to build a wall like the one at Dawlish Warren to protect the railway line?

They should have done that years ago instead of patching up the wall. They will have to do something similar now if we are going to keep our railway line.

It looks as though everyone thinks every wall is better than the one we have but every wall has to be different the design depends on hundreds of variables tides,curents. depth of water, ocean floor type. is it sand. rock. a combination of both. prevaling winds and wave formations. If the wall above was the answer every wall in the country would be the same that wall is for that location its as simple as that.

@ZIGGY. ask network rail, you never know, they might be able to answer your question, or point you in the right direction.
