You can buy a cheap home in the Black country and West Yorkshire where they hang washing over the street and you may get mugged. Prices in Devon reflect the sought after area that it is, which would you prefer? People who go to Spain to live soon run back to good old UK for the NHS.
yep ignore, idiot.
Differnce maybe that at Pocklington people use their local shops, but here locals don't on principal, this though goes for most small towns in Devon, I have no idea why. Yet people go to Newton Abbot shopping, maybe its I have a car must use it. I remmeber talking to someone in Plymouth who said they do all shopping in Exeter.. how crazy is that. I can only put all this down to the 'grass is ...
I hate negative. I have no problem with Sainsburys opening. Tell me what shop should be opened in town? .. thats what I asked lol.
Trouble it is all so different with shops than say 20 years ago. If a book shop opened in Dawlish, the first thing someone would say is 'I can get that cheaper on the intrenet' and yes they are right. There really is no real point in small shops though its good some hang on to the idea. Whilst it is obvious the Superstores will come here, there will be a point where they will be able to charge ...
So true what you say. So many people born here you see no no different.
Here here! .. well said. They forget they are going to get old .. well I have news for 'em, they will and I hope they will remember their unkind words when they do. It will sadly be a totally different elderly generation then based on todays antics.
Nearly there.. Do you realise that one day you will be old? You will be on that coach and be dumped.
So will you leave Dawlish and set a trend when you get old then, where will you go to? At the end of the day people dont seem to like youngsters or older people so there is no answer, one thing is sure we will all get old, so see yourself as you will be.
Agree well said. Why would an elderly perosn want to live in noisy London with all the rush and buzz let alone the unfriendliness.
