@Steve , you misunderstand. Brexit happened because Cameron made the EU referendum a manifesto promise that for once the Tories couldn't break for fear of Farage and the then UKIP. That's how it came about, because the Tories moved to the right. I wasn't questioning the actual vote. I hope that clarifies it. And indeed Corbyn and McDonald were critical of the EU project, which they saw as ...
@Steve Braverman is not left of centre, neither is Truss, Rees Mogg, Johnson, Sunak - Brexit happened because the Tories shifted even further to the right. The Cons have never been left of centre. Lib Dem policies are clearly right of centre, plus they went into coalition with the Tories in 2010 - 2015 which is hardly a leftist move. Anything leftist in Labour was purged after Corbyn was kicked ...
@Steve Whether there are a lot of people politically on the left or not in the UK, all the national parties are on a continuum from centre-right to far-right, so any left leaning people are not represented anyhow and therefore pose no threat to the status quo when it comes to the ballot box. How do you define 'normal and good people'?
From the South Devon Alliance website http://southdevonalliance.org/News01.html Written on the 15th February 2023 by Councillor Richard Daws, Leader of the SDA and the official Opposition in TDC since 2023. Including an article from The Private Eye's Rotten Boroughs section. Nothing has changed for the better since. The SDA continue to tackle these issues which Liberal Democrat ...
@Paul There is no left, only centre-right to far right. Although everything seems to the left from Reform UK's perspective I guess.
"however if you think that a potty mouth and so called comedian ? ( assuming his comments were meant to be funny )is up to you but you certainly have lost my vote" Think what? That didn't make sense . I don't know if the swearing will win disaffected, disenfranchised voters who rightly might refer to politics as an 'effing joke' (and swear themselves) or put others off. Some would ...
Okay, this was what the OP referred to on Liam Mullone's FB page, not the video. Haha how was anyone to know? And the comment about charging people to talk b******ks is below this on his FB page, https://www.facebook.com/Liam4college?comment_id=Y29tbWVudDo4NTE4NTE3MDY5NjYwMTlfOTg5NzMzNDEyOTMzNjM5 Still if you don't like swearing address the OP who included that quote in the first instance ...
@1263 Well the SDA candidate Liam Mullone has sworn in Council chambers in disgust and I guess outrage at the corruption he and the SDA have encountered and exposed relating to the Lib Dems and Tories. This is common knowledge. He is also neurodivergent and been open about his autism and the swearing. I personally would rather be represented by a human being who is shocked and disgusted at ...
To the thousands of people on Dawlish.com, here's the You Tube link to make it easier for you. And the text from Facebook for context; "Today someone I like said I should make a short film so the electorate knows me better, and someone I don't like repeated the slur that I am a posh tw*t, and someone else I don't like said actually I am not posh but a 'yobbo'. whatever that might mean. ...
People in Newton Abbot are justifiably angry about the unwanted, unpopular changes the Lib Dem run District Council under Wrigley's Leadership and their Tory allies in Devon County Council are forcing onto Queen St. Unsurprisingly finding Lib Dem election leaflets through their doors from Westminster hopeful Wrigley himself telling them he's the 'People's Champion' and 'working hard for Newton ...
