The Times reports that thousands of foreign workers will be hired for Britain's care homes this winter. The paper says there are fears of a "winter crisis", with more than 160,000 vacancies in the sector. It adds that countries such as India and the Philippines are likely to be the target of a "hiring spree".

Some woman in Dawlish has written a piece about this childcare business (or should that be lack of business?) in the latest edition of the Dawlish Gazette. See bottom page 19.

and now he's just shy of £9,000 lighter due to having to pay costs and compensation.

At one point I think that the people in the United Reformed Church (don't know what they call themselves now) did a big book sale, they may be interested. Someone else to ask is Angie at the Council offices in the Manor, she has lots of connections to groups around so may know of someone.

Does anyone on here know what to do with unwanted DVDs and Books all a bit dusty and yellowing. Dont mean just a few so please dont say put in re-cycling. I mean hundreds, box fulls. Just need gone if anybody wants them your welcome to pick them up. They are dry at the moment. Thanks
