I like being able to speak my mind Huw which is why, amongst other reasons, I'll never stand for election to any council. Be elected and then find myself gagged by pecuniary interests and/or predetermination of planning applications and goodness knows what other rules and regulations? No Thanks.

But to return to the Warren Farm saga - I've just been looking at the names of the nominees and seconders of the candidates. Interestingly I see that someone I saw with my own mince pies signing the Save Warren Farm petition at the Christmas market has put her name in support of one of the Conservative candidates standing for election to the town council.

and the thing with these double acts ( just hang on a mo whilst I get on my hobby horse) is that if one gets 'caught' with having to declare a pecuniary interest then so does the other. Just saying........

I see he's standing again as a Conservative candidate in South-West ward for the town council elections, and someone by the name of Angela Fenne and of the same address as Greg, is standing as a Conservative candidate for Central ward.

Just seeking clarification Dorian as the three names that are on the leaflet are not the same as the three names of the Independent candidates standing for election for Teignbridge District Council in Dawlish Central and North East ward. Well this is what I thought it was - has it changed? Just been looking at the committee report. Thought I'd post on here this bit 3.31 This site is sustainable and there is intention by the applicant for delivery this year which will help to ensure that the Council maintains its five year supply of deliverable housing sites.

PS On the matter of Dawlish South West ward - I happen to know the UKIP candidate's thoughts on the Warren Farm issue. Don't think he takes kindly to CPOs....

Dorian, I wasn't there but I imagine that the scenario was this. There were five councillors present who were members of the planning committee. When the item concerning the barn conversion at Warren Farm came up Mary Lowther had to  leave the room and not vote. That left four councillors able to vote. Two Conservative, Two Independent. The Chair of the Planning Committee would have ...

I have just had an Independent candidates election leaflet pushed through the door. It gives details of three Independent candidates - John Petherick, Linda Petherick and Howard Almond. Thing is the leaflet just talks of the local elections. I don't know if they are talking town or Teignbridge or both. And if they are Independent candidates why are three of them on the one leaflet? And ...
