No it doesn't become void, because the amount we pay for local authority services has not increased, only the afore-mentioned precepts have increased, and these are not considered when determining central funding.
I'd like to offer my agreement with the letter in the Gazette regarding the daff bulbs that are in full bloom along Exeter Road and at the Manor. Well done to all those concerned for their excellent POSITIVE action to visibily improve our town - I too appreciate the effort they made to brighten up Dawlish, and would hope everyone on here would do likewise.
I thought it was the police and fire precepts that had increased? Getting rid of local government tiers would surely mean that non-locals are making decisions about local matters - whilst i detest the term 'localism', I do understand that big government has significant drawbacks.
