Organised by the Dawlish branch of the Royal British Legion, the day long musical extravaganza attracted the crowds who enjoyed the live music as well as bouncy castle, bar and refreshment stalls, barbecue and children’s rides. Highlight of the night was the appearance of up and coming local band Token Joker, who had the crowds rocking. The band are hoping to sign a recording deal soon. ...
I think it would be a good idea if this derelict building next to the play park at Sandy Lane was demolished and the play park extended. It would make more sense to have a decent play park in the area where you have the skate park and Leisure Centre and not in the middle of town!
One fire appliance from Dawlish attended a car on fire, which was well alight on arrival. Crews used two breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to put the fire out. Crews also used a thermal imaging camera to check for hot spots. The cause of the fire was accidental. A STREET party attracted crowds to Dawlish today after community groups set up their stalls on The Strand. Shops and businesses joined in to create a real party atmosphere. Brixham coastguard took a 999 call from a Dawlish mother after her little girl was stung by one of the jellyfish on Sunday morning. The child was not said to be seriously ill but the mother was concerned and advised to take the child to a doctor.
