@Onport1968 - im not adverse to extra houses being built. what i do object to is all the usual planning guidelines that the rest of us have to endure being thrown out the windows for these gluttonous developers. Walking on the hills above Dawlish and took a couple of photo's of the ever increasing carbuncle they call a housing development these days. It's just a mass of boxes slammed as close together as possible. When you consider the planning applications for some small changes to peoples homes get turned down, but this thing just does what it wants! As they say money talks.

Considering the cafe was a positive and welcome rest stop for a lot of locals and visitors to Dawlish and the Cove. Would it not be possible for one of the official groups in Dawlish to organise a donation scheme to get donations of materials, labour etc to get the cafe up and running? Only walked past the cafe yesterday afternoon, so sad to hear a persons livelihood has been destroyed. I believe they had applied for a liqour licence. It's possibe that the fire was set to hide stock being possibly stolen? just a thought.
Tip of the iceberg. Once you start paying for ADDITIONAL SERVICES, ones that should be covered by the excesssive rates we already pay and get little for. The greed festers and before long you WILL be paying for all your waste services on top of your rates. Over to you Mrs C!

It always makes me laugh when I see the blue badge holders in their 4x4's and Impreza's parking on the double yellows in Teignmouth.
