And there you have it. A positive campaign by Labour has resulted in a massive 40% of the vote supporting Labours progressive policies. Meanwhile, the nasty Conservatives lose seat after seat due in no small part to the nasty name-calling like the above from Burnside and the disgraceful mainstream media. Make no mistake, Labour won this election. Against all the odds and despite all ...

The losers were the nasty UKIP (wiped out) and the nasty Conservatives. The winners were clearly Labour and the DUP.  And democracy.

@From The Grave - labour still lost the election in the rest of the country.

@Lynne And yet, Labour still lost the election.  We won't be seeing Worzel Gummidge entering No 10.

I just hope that we still get out of the EU. It's sad we are such a weak country.

@leatash - the first past the post electoral system we have in this country is far from being democratic. if, as is the case, we have forms of pr in other elections in other parts of the uk i fail to see why we can't have the same for our general elections. Take this constituency. Unless you are a Tory voter your vote is too all intents wasted. How on earth is that democratic?

So very sad. http://www.devonlive.com/body-of-missing-exeter-man-found-on-beach/story-30380714-detail/story.html

@Carer , what's your point?

I wonder if Nicola Sturgeon will want another election because she didnt like the result of this one? LOL.

@Paul How strange as it was Ms May that chopped the armed forces in the first place, but being a Tory, I'm sure that you will come up with a good excuse and blame someone else. Also, since the tories have been in, look what's happened to our police force, yet you vote for them because of security. Strange.
