Once again Diana Mond has got it wrong. Whether or not the order was revoked in 2016, the land on which the car park sits is still regulated land and that land cannot be enforced under contract law (which it is now). In an open letter I have obtained from a minister for transport it spells it out adequately that once a local authority has set aside land for use as a car park, it will always ...
Bump
I think that is the point Deedoodle ie visitors and locals will go elsewhere. Trouble is though, that although that will help protect the wildlife at the Warren it will be detrimental to those who run businesses there.
What about your police pension though DEEDOODLE? Must be worth the equivalent of at least £25 an hour I’d have thought? And fully deserved it is too, might I add.
The off street (parking places) order 2013 was rescinded/revoked on 5 April 2016. The Berry Head car park is NOT a local authority car park. The land is leased to the Torbay Coast & Countryside Trust, who themselves (not the local authority) use part of the land as a car park. That car park is enforced on their behalf by Parkingwithease Ltd.
Just a quick update but I still have not all the answers I require. Diana Mond claims:- " I think that the ANPR system in use there is great (not that these things overly excite me!!!). To say that “people do not bother to look at the charges” is somewhat condescending. Some might not, but I’m pretty confident that the vast majority do. They might not necessarily like the scale of the charges, ...
I remember when the MP's agreed to a 4 year pay freeze and when the four years were up they gave themselves a 50℅ pay rise. When I was in my early 20's I earnt over £10 per hour, now in my late 50's I would be luck to earn £8 per hour. This country is governed and run by a dubious bunch of rejects that have only one thing on their minds and that is themselves.
TIme and time again it seems to me that the patients are in charge of the asylum, am I wrong! Individuals placed on dubious pedestals with no understanding of the real world and how it works. If these proposals are acted upon visitors and locals a like will go elsewhere, I believe.
Yes thanks Lynne for the chapter and verse from the "mirror" I was merely correcting an incorrect quote. Others may be interested in your stats but although I am all too aware of them, I haven't lost what I never had!
Oh and did you know that back in 2013 the starting starting salary for a police constable got cut back by £4,000. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-21027176 Look at the pay scales on this link. https://www.policeoracle.com/pay_and_conditions/police_pay_scales.html Note the differences in salaries between those joining the police service prior to 1.4.13 and those who joined after ...
