Apparently a spokesperson at Network Rail said they will never agree to put benches on the sea wall due to health and safety reasons. When I asked in a meeting a couple of years ago what the reasons were I was told that people could stand on the benches to get onto the line! I did point out the that the low wall all the way to DW provided much easier access to the line!
Yes I always say to myself, sarcastically, when travelling around the country and seeing vast amounts of open countryside - "Gosh, this country is just so full" (or words to that effect). Click on this link to see the BBC report http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-41901294

Over the whole of Teignbridge, only 5% of the land is built on, lower than the UK figure of 5.9%. Food for thought for those that think that we’re living in a concrete jungle, or that our country is full. This is from the BBC land use map published today.
Top of my to do list would be resurface Exeter Road but DCC seem to think Coryton Close was a priority i wonder why.

Birds take priority over jobs, now i am all for conservation but there has to be a balance the trouble with Natural England is they are set on a course to protect wildlife at any cost and dont care one jot about folks trying to make a living working at places like the Boat House.
Was it not for safety reasons they were removed did one not get lifted from its position by heavy sea's and thrown on to the track.
