Entering the Uk You’re from an EEA country or Switzerland You can enter the UK with either a valid passport or a national identity card issued by a EEA country . It must be valid for the whole of your stay.
You left out Belgium. So would something along the lines of the old EEC be more agreeable to you? And the Europeans can only travel from one end of Europe to the other (as you put it in an earlier post on this thread) without a passport because of the Schengen agreement. Some non EU countries are party to that agreement, other countries who are part of the EU are not party to that ...
Lynne no i had no problem with other EU nationals having access to the UK without a passport but then it was only Germany, France, Italy, Netherlands, Luxemberg, Denmark, and Ireland.
@flo
There's 3 companies bidding to produce it, one UK, one French and one German. Sounds like the beginning of an un-PC joke ...
@burneside - your right. It could equally say 'Fabrique en France' - which in a way would be very appropriate given the amount of French already on the front of our passports.
leatash, 42 yrs ago you have just found out, you were told a lot of bull. 60 odd yrs ago I found that out - what took you so long? And the bull shit continues.
@Lynne Unlike at present, after Brexit we will have the freedom to make individual trade deals with any country in the world, but of course you already know that. Can you provide the source for your claim that our new blue passports will be produced in Germany?
So do I take it then that you would have been equally okay with EU nationals not needing to have a passport in order to enter the UK?
