The government should implement the same system they have in Amsterdam. Make ALL cyclist's register and license there cycles. This way you would have the ability to report a cyclist if there were riding on the pavement or road in a dangerous/ignorant way.
The council house scheme which started around the 1920's had the right focus on producing quality homes for those in need, but the high values of the day were eroded into non existence as the decades went buy. I agree with Lynne that the government is purely focused on private home ownership. They want the revenue, but not any associated costs/responsibilities that they have to cover. As ...
What is the actual problem of 'people are so desperate for places to live'? If there are so many people currently without a place to live why do we not see more people sleeping rough! They are obviously living somewhere. The issue seems to be there is a certain number of people who cannot afford to rent/buy their own home and are currently in unsuitable accomodation that does not meet the ...
'Distributed to charity' It's a shame that cleaning the streets of Dawlish and maintaining essential services does not come under this banner, or does it now!
How about homes that allow a certain independance from the utilities i.e. solar panels/mini wind power with battery back ups.....not selling back to the grid and then having to buy back at over inflated prices, Rainwater and waste water recycling, gardens big enough to grow vegetables etc. For developments over a certain size to have their own self contained sewerage systems that can store and ...

Plenty of verbally abusive cyclists in the local area, overweight lycra clad one's on their super lightweight racing bikes seem the worst in my own experience. Lucky for the cyclist's in question that the motorist's do not act in the same way!
The new layout for the adoption of the cycle path into Dawlish at the junction of East Cliff road has made the road unsafe for road user's. I say this due to the observation of traffic movements, yesterday afternoon, when I was watching the workmen installing the new white line for the centre of the Exeter road at the junction of East Cliff road. As a double decker bus came up Exeter Road, ...
Just observed 2/3 fire engines/tenders go down to Upper Longlands and white plumes of smoke coming from along the houses. May just be a bbq went out of control or a tumble dryer. Smoke has subsided, but another fire engine has just turned up with sirens going.
@Morty Vicker - i like dawlish.com as it is a great place to communicate to others interested in what goes on in dawlish and beyond. in your case, and i'm assuming you are mrs c, the bile you can excrete from an innocent post does nothing positive to either the people who contribute nor the reputation of the site. Your venemous attitude is not needed or wanted, please go away,
