Dawlish resident
Dwelling on the event of straving chidren is not something i want, what i want is for all the money and people churned into a pointless carnival to be focused on helping important issues around the world. Dawlish carnival has no purpose and acheieves little integrity in its unconsructive being.
So what if anyone does know anything about "the stabbing" its a police matter and should not be for the small minded town gossipers that feed on rumours to fill their little empty lives!
Why do the residents of dawlish make such an issue of the carnival. personally dressing up like a fool and cram packing the pubs seems utterly small minded. I can see why the carnival may be a positive thing for children but my concerns are with why fully grown adults go to the pub to numb thereselves with alcohol rather than doing something much more constructive!

surely if a body was found that is a police matter and should not be used as town gossip! just think about the persons family! how very insesitive!
Not advertized as coming. The air show is good, which is more than I can say for the carnival procession, which is rubbish every single year. Its so amateurish and cannot compare to Rio or New Orleans. Its just an excuse for Dawlish trannies to put on frocks and mince around.
Dawlish is very quiet most of the time. There is a proportion of beer swilling chavs but if you steer clear of the town pubs you won;t see them. Its a largish town and there are lots of groups lurking if you can seek them out. Don't let the posts put you off - in fact there are more 'upmarket' people retiring here so you should be in good company.
