POLICE will have the power to act against public drinking and anti-social behaviour in the heart of Dawlish. Signs listing the prohibitions have gone up and the Public Space Protection Order for Dawlish became legislation on Friday. A TORBAY man stole a car and used it to ram-raid units on an industrial estate in Dawlish a court has been told. He and an unknown accomplice then drove to the Daihatsu Fourtrak to the Black Swan industrial estate in Dawlish and rammed the roller doors of three units, stealing tools and causing damage of more than £1,000. Design and consultancy firm Arcadis has been appointed as principal contractor on a £1m project to study the railway line between Newton Abbot and Exeter.
