A DAWLISH man will stand trial on charges of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour that was racially aggravated. Ian James Mitchell, aged 40, of Linden Road, denies the charge. He also denies a charge of possessing cocaine and another charge of assaulting a police constable in the execution of his duty in Dawlish.

A DAWLISH mum and dad have been fined £180 each because her teenage child failed to attend school. South and West Devon Magistrates' Court also ordered them to pay costs of £150 each and they must each pay £72 to fund victim services. The cases were proved in their absence.
