Police searched the resort after a 30-year-old man suffered head injuries in collision with a car in Northumberland Place. Police confirmed a 23-year-old man from the Dawlish area was arrested about 3am in the Landscore Road area of Teignnmouth. The new South Devon Highway officially opened for business at 3.30 this morning, just in time for Christmas! In the wee small hours of this morning a convoy of cars with highways maintenance, police and engineers opened the road to its first traffic, with lucky drivers heading towards Newton Abbot at 3.30 am making South Devon history. Two fire engines from Dawlish and Teignmouth were sent to the blaze in Old Teignmouth Road, Dawlish, just after 9.30pm on Monday after reports that a timber-framed building was on fire. The spokesman said the fire was out an hour later. Half of the building and roof was damaged in the fire. He added that the cause of the fire “was deliberate”. Read more... ...

Plans for a safe cycle link between Dawlish Warren and Dawlish town centre have been approved. Work on the extension is scheduled to start in January 2016 and could be completed in time for next summer.
