I see that the Old Salami has been turned into "Reflections" - only saw while driving past earlier - anyone know what exactly it is? Cafe/Bar? Anyway, nice to see one less empty shop.

I was recently in St Ives (Cornwall) and was absolutely disgusted by it. The seafront there was littered with friendly little pubs, independent artisan food traders clogging up the promenade, restaurants selling local food all over the place, families hanging out together and not screaming/shouting at their brattish children. Good to see a new shop "Curious" in town next to the strand cafe; and I see the old Salamis is being tarted up and are advertising for kitchen staff - does anyone know what's planned for here? Both good news for the strand hopefully.

It is classed as Dawlish, its postal address is Dawlish, EX7. Population ~800 1.4 miles from Dawlish, 1.9 miles from Teignmouth. Does this mean we can have a nice pavillion now?!
Exactly, so not a huge difference. We’re still larger than Dartmouth, Tavistock, Honiton, Totnes etc. I agree, if it's done on facilities, shops etc, then yes Teignmouth is "bigger". That was kind of my point really.
Goodness me, there's a lot of bickering on here - I don't wish to get involved in all that - but for what it's worth, I think it's a great design, and will be a great asset to the town: It doesn't take up nearly as much space on the green that I've been led to believe, and even so I don't think people think "Let's go to Dawlish, there's some lovely grass there".
