Nope. You're way out dear. Don't go in for too much fish & chips - Doctor's orders. Nor arcades. There are OTHER types of eating establishments in the area you know. Just like to take in the scenery - which Devon has in abundance, and walking. As I said, its also a good base for the area.You assume far too much. Actually I disagree. I feel that Dawlish does still offer the tourist something. OK, so its not grand or lively & vibrant like Torquay, but it does have its own unique charm and is a good base for visiting the area. I'm not particularly interested in the so called corruptness within its ranks 'cos I'm only a visitor.I'm just commenting on Dawlish as an outsider. To me it is a quiet & peaceful ...
