I think it's a good idea to have protection from the breeze, also it makes it more difficult for the seagulls to pinch your food!
West Country Tonight were filming in Dawlish today, they focused on the black swans and speaking with the public and the warden. Well worth watching.
We have just 5 swans remaining out of 15 originally brought over from Australia. The water is filling up with silt and one of the reason why the swans are moveing elsewhere. The Environment Agency and Teignbridge District Council are meeting next week to discuss what can be done. A spokeswoman from Teignbridge District Council said " De-silting is a very costly exercise and we always have to ...
The seagulls are becoming more and more of a problem. It saddened me to hear we only have 2 cygnets out of a possible14. It is believed the seagulls are responsible for the disappearience of 12 eggs. They are not just a nuisance in the town but also in our back gardens.

Just come back from a walk around the lawn and saw 8 beautiful black swans. The gardens look lovely too anyone know who looks after them now?
What a shame Co-op has taken so long to submit their planning application. I think if they had got a move on it might have helped save some other shops. I visited Co-op on many occasion only to find they didn't have what i needed so i popped over to Teignmouth Co-op and was able to get what i was looking for so i ended up shopping for my other bits in Teignmouth.
After reading a letter in this weeks Dawlish Gazette i agree with Fronteraman. I can't believe he didn't get the support he deserved from the carnival comittee.
I just hope someone will tell all those heavy vehicles exceeding the 30mph along the Exeter Road to slow down.
