As far as I am aware DARE is a group of people concerned with questioning and challenging a lot of what has been in the past, and is now again, being proposed for Dawlish. You may have noticed that I also do a lot of questioning and challenging. I do not always agree with DARE but for what it is worth I am very glad that the organisation exists.

If you haven't attended any meetings so far, or have, but have more questions etc there are two more meetings this coming week that you might wish to attend. Cockwood Village Hall, Church Road, Monday 3rd October 7.30pm to 9.00pm St. Mary's Hall, Dawlish Warren, Tuesday 4th October 7.30pm to 9.00pm (meetings organised by DARE for the Environment of Dawlish)

TDC now (but only of the last few days!) putting more info re Dawlish local plan on their website. Here is some more info that is not to be found in the draft plan available for public consultation but is nontheless very relevant. Totally agree with you Leatash about this head in the sand attitude by so many (not just planners) concerning rising sea levels and the impact this could well have on those areas that lay below (present) sea level. The rail line is not only an artery to/from the south-west/rest of the country it also acts as a barrier twixt land and sea especially at places like Starcross. When (not if) the rail ...

I see from today's Gazette that there are a series of drop-in sessions this week concerning the plan. Thought you might like to know details. Please tell others. Thursday 29th - 10.00am - 1.00pm - United Reform Church, The Strand Friday 30th - 10.00am - 12 noon - Open Daw, the Methodist Church, Brunswick Place Saturday 31st - 10.00am - 4.00pm - The Manor House
