Very interesting editiorial in this week's Dawlish Post about Localism and planning. Check out page 8 - "Grass Roots Opinion Is Valuable". Also a double page spread, with letters, concerning the Teignbridge Core Strategy - see pages 20 & 21.
Thinking about this Workfare idea (see Nelson's post above). Whilst I can hear an argument for it, I am concerned that another effect could be that there may be no or very little incentive for employers to create real jobs. Why should they when they can take on labour for free (free for them that is). The labour will actually be paid for by us, via JSA or ESA. I understand that those on Workfare ...
There's been no response. That takes me by surprise a bit given what strong feelings some have expressed on this matter. No-one got anything to say then about the recommendation being for both the full pedestrianisation and the hybrid option (pedestrianised between 10-4) to be rejected and that what should happen is for The Strand to open to traffic all the time, for the pavement to be widened ...

Perhaps one way that the *ankers might sit up and take some notice could be for those of us who have bank accounts with RBS, Lloyds, Barclays, HBOS and similar to close our accounts with them and open accounts elsewhere?
