Interestingly enough (and contrarily enough), the sand at that lower level part of the sea wall has itself been at its highest level for years.
I beg to differ re your statement that nothing ever happens here. Take a glance at the Events section of this website for a small selection. Or pop into the library or TIC and have a look at the folders in there that advertise events in the town and surrounds.

There's a wall in the way when it faces that direction. It does interest me as to why people who, ahem, live in Dawlish are so reliant on the webcam to see the town, and don't just leave their home and walk to the seafront area. If you get my drift...

Peppermint Park and Golden Sands are now one site under the name of Golden Sands. You can definitely walk and drive (and cycle!) from Exeter Road to Beach Road through the site.
Extreme storms not an act of god? Eh? You have failed to define "adequate" - and in doing so completely miss the point I'm making about your misinterpretation of events based upon photos.
