It's good to see a new contributor on this site, but just to be clear it isn't me. I do wonder why people don't give their full ID when posting on these sites. If you feel strongly enough to make a post you really should be prepared to own your statements IMHO
As someone who also posts on this site, I'd appreciate it if you would also use your surname when posting, so neither of us gets credited / blamed for the others views. Otherwise it's going to get confusing.
Crikey, just to be clear that this new "Michael" is not me. I hope Paul and others know me well enough to realise I don't personalise matters in this way. It doesn't help and gets in the way of understanding the real issues
11.15 @Brooklyn. I appreciate that must have been very upsetting to see. I've Just spoken on the telephone to Julian, the Duty Warden, who had only just returned from inspecting the site. He advises that the eggs are definitely infertile (10 days overdue) but the Swans are in no danger from the current high water.
Talking to Don (one of the wardens) today, they are very aware of the situation. Sadly those particular eggs are well overdue hatching, perhaps sterile? Anyway, the chaps will be doing all that can be done
@ZIGGY in answer to your question. I asked TDC to provide more information about their decisions at Sandy Lane and I think what's been said is reasonable. My personal opinion is that more open access facilities as described would be great. Realistically there is a financial challenge to overcome. I've asked for more detail of what's being considered to see if this might be an ...
I'm happy to ask questions at Teignbridge, and will let you know what I find out. It may take a few days though.
A request was posted on this site for a brief breakdown of the costs for the Strand project I undertook to pass on the question to Devon County Council, and have now received the following reply Works (Construction) Costs = 17% Materials = 60% Statutory Undertakers Work = 9% Street Lighting Work = 10% Street Furniture ...
I asked Teignbridge Council last week about the sarcophagus like structure that has appeared by the phone box. It is a temporary installation built by British Telecom to protect their equipment during the Strand works. It will be removed when no longer required and the ground re-levelled. I did suggest that a public notice be put up to explain the rather unusual structure in that location, and ...
@MRB to answer your two questions (1) The kiosk on the seafront. I have been told by Teignbridge Officers that it is a private contractual relationship between Network Rail and the tenant. I'm not aware of any power to enforce a private owner (Network Rail) or their Tenant to re-decorate the exterior of the building. (2) Teignbridge District Council have promised to consult the ...
