As i stated in a post a long time back that all these benefits would be available, but some post's did not agree with me. It's to late for the good old UK afraid the damage is done. It's the British people that's going to be on the bread line which most are already.

And 250,000 already here and some in work, how did they come in if there was an embargo on them being allowed in.

For the people & her country not her purse! Australia says NO - Second time she has done this! This woman should be appointed Queen of the World.. Truer words have never been spoken.

Prime Minister Julia Gillard- Australia:

Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks..
...
Separately, Gillard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying she supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote:

'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT.. Take It Or Leave It.
I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians. '

'This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom'

'We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society .... Learn the language!'

'Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.'

'We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.'

'This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'.' 'If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.'

Maybe if we circulate this amongst ourselves in UK , SA, Canada & USA, WE will find the courage to start speaking and voicing the same truths.

What the Australian PM said, what a woman why cant we have a PM like her

This debacle between Tory Prime Minister David Cameron and Nigel Farage of the UKIP on immigration, where The Tories are trying everything in their playbook to attempt to wing back the voters they have lost to the ultra right-wing parties, and Nigel Farage is playing to the minor success of Eastleigh, proves that there is no integrity, or honesty in politics today, it is all about power and at any cost.

The bottom line of their argument suggests that many EU immigrants cone to Britain to live on our welfare State benefits.  And to get priorities housing.  This is propagandist rubbish!

·         EU immigrants "cannot" claim any benefits until they are in the system by working, and one full year of employment without being unemployed, entitles them to just 1/3rd of what British claimants get.

·         None EU immigrants CANNOT claim benefits until they have been granted Indefinite Leave to Remain.

·         A non EU immigrant must have been legally resident in the UK for five years before they can claim ILR or for two years if they married a UK national.

·         EU immigrants are allowed to claim certain benefits if they would be entitled to them in their own country. This applies to Brits living abroad, for example the 500,000 UK nationals currently living in Spain are also entitled to claim benefits through the Spanish system.

Asylum seekers are treated differently and are far fewer in number than the right wing press would wish us to believe.

Until asylum is granted, they cannot work, but can apply for financial support if they are destitute. The level of support is currently as follows:

Married couple (or in a civil partnership): £69.57
Lone parent aged 18 or over: £42.16
Single person aged 18 or over: £35.13
Single person over 16, but under 18 £38.18
Person aged under 16: £50.81

Pregnant women and women with children aged under three get additional help.

They can also be housed, the Home Office uses private landlords and never in London or the South East, so they are not taking accommodation from UK citizens.

Non EU immigrants cannot bring in "shiploads of dependents".

The UK allows direct relations to join their family in the UK. i.e. minor children, spouses, or elderly parents who are totally financially reliant on their child and have no other children in their home country to care for them . They must be able to prove that they can support them financially and provide adequate accommodation.

I am not defending immigration. I'm putting some perspective (and facts) to scare mongering misinformation which is deliberately designed to create a rift between the indigenous population and immigrants.

It IS possible to misinform and feed off the prejudices of those who take the media FANTASY at face value without checking FACTS.

Oh and you cannot get a NI No if you are not legally in the UK.

As someone who also posts on this site, I'd appreciate it if you would also use your surname when posting, so neither of us gets credited / blamed for the others views.  Otherwise it's going to get confusing.
