It is about time that government officials paid into their pension funds just the same as the private sector workers do and did not get top ups from the tax payers.
That makes £4,000,000 extra paid in during the last 5 years that's were our money goes, Gordon Brown and Ed Balls killed final salary schemes when they robbed them of millions but all the time civil service, Council employees and NHS workers pensions are gold plated.
You have to remember that a quarter of your council tax goes to pay pensions of council employees in addition Teignbridge is on record to reduce black bin collections from two weekly to three weekly. Council tax going up by likely 4.99% again and services going down.
We should be encouraging tourists and shoppers by making parking easy and cheap or free where possible, and ensuring there are ample amenities including public toilets. Otherwise we'll end up with a town full of dodgy charity shops and barbers.
That's absolutely nuts. As 1263 says, what about the tourists, all the people that pay good money to have a fantastic time, perhaps staying at the holiday parks at Dawlish Warren. They are now not allowed to go toilet, this is crazy. Also we're asked to pay more and more and bit by bit we get less in return.
They dont seem to understand that people come to devon as tourists, and if they close the toilets where do people go, and why would you pay for toilets then parking etc. Where do they find these people for council positions who have no common sense. As to the illegals from France they should never be allowed to touch our shores, they should be placed on a ship and sent directly back to France. Their lives are not at risk in France in my opinion. Although wait for the amendments the Labour party want to put through on immigration soon and it will entice a lot more illegals across the channel in my opinion.
How about the failed covid tracer app that was £35 billion plus the myriad of poorly vetted ppe contracts that either failed to be supplied but were paid out and/or the products that were not fit for purpose. Supposedly up to 24% of the PPE contracts awarded are now in dispute.
