Ashburton in a small community ..you may be seen as an outsider .. one good thing about Dawlish is you can mix with visitors ..Ashburton has none ! I know what it's like to be an outsider .. I once lived in Cornwall ugggggggggg... all they say is 'when you going back !!'

If you are going to re start and you empty the shop of stock three months relief maybe allowed..but best to check with the area Council it differs.

Perhaps the lease has ended...or could be a lack of trade. It was a nice choice but risky ...At the end of the day ...visitors are not going to buy tropical fish or a fish tank, trade would be local sales. I am not getting at anyone in Dawlish ..it's a known fact that you never get high volumn trade from locals (unless you're a pub!) wherever you place a shop ..for example Newton Abbot people seem ...

'yes ..but there is NO point' In Tesco and Sainsburys every £1 you spend helps ...

I was only responding to the points if you read carefully...I can live with Bow Windows looking like it is, it's no problem to me. At the risk of sounding like a politician .. I refer you to my posting of 21 Feb 'Has everyone lost the plot' ..where I suggest if people don't like Dawlish they should move on and they should ! As for 'what's on' ..well there didn't seem to be anything to post..all ...

The Chamber of Trade would have a bit of push perhaps ..but nobody can insist you smarten a business frontage. if anyone took the buiness over you would never ever leave it like it is ..but as you say, strange as it is ..they get 'bums on seats' .. so many must be happy with it. Wonder if Bow knows about this forum and if they would like to respond ?
