The coastal park Sangs is needed to act as a deterrent to stop people visiting the Warren NNR right? So why does TDC continue to advertise the Warren NNR as a place to visit? Oh and then there is this. And this is the real cracker. Humphrey Clemens is the Conservative chair of TDC's Planning Committee. He is a strong advocate of the Sangs being at Warren Farm. One of the reasons Warren farm is ...

Oh and I am told by a senior Tory councillor that "There is no Conservative policy on Warren Farm, no matter how you try to confuse the issue, it is Teignbridge adopted policy". (for info: Teignbridge District Council was Conservative controlled for the majority of the past 4 years and Conservative led (with Independent group support) for the latter 12/18 months. The Teignbridge Local Plan, ...

My personal concern is that RW has a voice at TDC. Should it be the case that three of the candidates standing for election have a pecuniary interest to declare in Warren Farm thereby rendering themselves unable to speak and vote on the subject, then they cannot achieve the objective I wish RW to have at TDC. For me it is that simple. But I appreciate others have a different take on the ...

@Mcjrpc - They may/they may not end up on the planning committee but unless they have a personal or pecuniary interest to declare in Warren Farm (and believe me I have done as much research as I can to ascertain which of the 10 candidates standing in Dawlish Central and North East ward do have such interests - and, as it turns out, it seems some do!) then they would be able to speak on and vote ...

The issue of keeping Warren Farm farming isn't just concerned with the nonsense of having a Sangs some distance away from the new build houses. As far as I am concerned the issue is also about local food production. I am not saying we don't need new housing stock because we absolutely do. But somehow that housing need should be balanced with the need to keep fields that one way or the other ...

I've just had delivered a letter from Richard Weeks, the farmer who owns Warren Farm. It is quite a long letter so here is my abridged version. "Dear Local Resident, Please can you help to save my farming livelihood. You are probably aware that the new local development plan for Teignbridge means that over 1200 additional new houses are to be built in Dawlish. Because of this ...

I think you need a facebook or twitter account if you want to register with Swapmyvote but I thought I would post this in case anyone's interested. "What if you are in a Lib Dem/Tory marginal? Perhaps you can’t stand either party, but one of them is going to get the seat anyway. However, every seat the Lib Dems take from the Tories reduces the Conservative’s chances of being the ...

“Constitutionally, there is no rule that the party with the largest number of seats has a right to form a government. Mr Clegg also said the party with the largest mandate should be able to negotiate first”. From: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-2015-32475098 Question: When Nick Clegg talks of the largest mandate does he mean the party with the largest number of seats or the party that ...

From: Inside Housing, 1st May 2015 page 14 "Myth: Everyone receiving Housing Benefit is unemployed. Busted? Despite some of the headlines, the reality for housing benefit recipients is actually very different. An increasing number of working people are having to claim housing benefit to keep up with the rent. According to the 2013/14 English Housing Survey, almost twice the proportion ...

I believe the term affordable rented housing relates to those who may need HB to help them pay their rent but also to those who could pay their rents in full but not at the market rate ie they need rents at up to 80%  (affordable rents) of market rate or even lower (say around 60% of market rate). So, if those rents and that type of accommodation isn't available then they have no option but to ...
