General Discussion

I see from today's Gazette that Devon County Council have effectively scuppered any plans that TDC planners had for the Red Rock Centre to be a community centre rather than have a community centre get built in DA2 as per the original Local Plan.

On the original thread there were a few posts about when and why Secmaton Lane had become partially cycle and pedestrian only. This is what I have now been told. "You have made an enquiry about when the closed section of Secmaton Lane came into force. Looking at the traffic orders for Dawlish it appears that the order was sealed on the 5th April 2002. Traffic orders can be seen at ...

I will be gobsmacked if our MP does anything than toe the government's line. I believe she is now a PPS (don't know who to) so is on the lowest rung of the ministerial ladder and therefore must toe the government line if she wishes to keep her job. "3.9 Parliamentary Private Secretaries are expected to support the Government in important divisions in the House. No Parliamentary Private ...

For those following the Tax Credit saga you'll probably be aware that the House of Lords has stuck up a metaphorical two fingers to Osborne's planned cuts. I watched the debate. Ditto the Redrow development by Sainsbury's. And I'll bet the Langdon application doesn't go through before Christmas not least because another planning application in the DA2 vicinity was not given planning ...

As Gary is vice chair of the Dawlish Town Council's planning committee and is also involved in other ways with what is going on (or not!) with all the proposed developments in DA2 it may be that he has to hold his own counsel at the moment. If I am wrong in that then I am sure he will come on here to let me and the rest of us know. There is a town council planninng meeting on Thursday ...

@Barbarawils68 - who owns area 3?

To answer my own question. “The bill proposes that buyers of starter homes can sell them at full market value after five years, giving a windfall to the lucky recipients but removing forever their benefit to first-time buyers of the future.” From http://omnifeed.com/article/www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2015/oct/25/housing-bill-building-planning-wont-work and from the same article ...
