Great idea. Would you sell Betamax videos? Seriously though, I guess that you mean a DVD rental shop. Though these days it's very hard to compete with the likes of Lovefilm, if you could keep the price down and perhaps broaden the scope to include selling popcorn, pick-a-mix, etc, you might be onto a winner. You should look at renting out console games too.
It was certainly open over the weekend.
The Dawlish Town clubhouse is a great venue for a party!
Some great points there Cal. Completely and utterly disagree about "Disabled" access to a pedestrianised Strand though - blue badge holders seem to have a free hand to park wherever the hell they want to as it is. A Shopmobility scheme (as suggested by Cal) would be much more preferable.
Just had a read of it after getting a Google Alert about it. On the right of the page it says "What issue would you like me to raise in the Council sessions on your behalf?" Reading her blog, I would like to raise the issue of illiteracy amongst the 70-year-olds. Are we really represented by people like her? If she's representative of our council, it's no wonder that we're stuck in the dark ages. ...
Does anyone know if there's a Christmas Panto taking place in Dawlish this year? I'm not a fan of those panto's that have z-list celebrities in them, and much prefer the traditional panto's that are put on by local theatre/rep companies.
Everyone associated with the town of Dawlish should say a big THANK YOU to John William Matthews, who bequested in his will the princely sum of £8,555 to go towards the project to refurbish the waterfowl enclosure and aviary. Thanks also to the two local councils for putting their money where their mouth is.
You care enough to reply though! You seem to do nothing but knock the positives in our town. The reason why Dawlish doesn't go forward is because of miserable so and so's like you.
Sid, what facilities/amenities do you think would stop Dawlish from becoming, quote: "a ghost town"?
I have plenty of time, so let's hear your thoughts. So far 2 replies, but 0 constructive answers - so I'll ask the question again. What year-round facilities do we need/want for locals and visitors alike?
