What does everyone think about me opening a video shop in Dawlish now that the local one has sadly had to close its doors. I think it would be a great commodity within the community. Welcome Stranger
Great idea. Would you sell Betamax videos? Seriously though, I guess that you mean a DVD rental shop. Though these days it's very hard to compete with the likes of Lovefilm, if you could keep the price down and perhaps broaden the scope to include selling popcorn, pick-a-mix, etc, you might be onto a winner. You should look at renting out console games too.
An idea yes but remember this is Dawlish! ..wouldnt think you could make a living from videos unless you mean DVD, rents are high and people can buy new online watch and then can resell the DVD on Ebay, new release films seem to be on TV quickly.
The negatives that you've written Wondering, apply throughout the country. And from what I understand there is still plenty of demand for DVD rentals nationwide. I think the 'computer' games angle is well worth pursuing.
Good luck to anyone but the post did say Videos I thought they had had their day! I would not through money to Business rates and rents in this age where everything is availabe online. Just my view.
I did mean DVD shop with a scope for video games too, nothing as in depth as a major high street retailer. Top 50 films and games as well as some classics. I think a little film club would be in order to or a movie club for the kids as there is no cinema near. I would also undercut prices to attract more business :)Please give me your thoughts, you the public are the customers tell me what you want. Regards Welcome Stranger
