Well I have a postal vote and I've already voted - so the goods news with that is that I can skip all the endless stuff about it on the radio, TV and newspapers and just get on. Job done.
Well it was nice to see that the temporary lights by the wall at Lanherne have now been taken away. And a few days earlier than their previous estimate.
Dawlish is lovely a lot of the time and frankly every town is going to have bits (and people) that aren't lovely. As for expense, well it is no worse than many other places around. There is a good community spirit in both towns although they do have slightly different feels to them. I would say look at both with househunting, that's what we've always done and there are some lovely and unexpected ...
They truly are that idiotic. Huge queues towards Exeter this morning and huge queues from Exeter this evening. It's been like this all week. No-one seems to have any sense when it comes to simple things like this.
I think there must be a surplus of temporary traffic lights in Devon and they've run our of storage so they just keep installing them around Teignmouth and Dawlish as somewhere to put them. I hope they manage to phase them so that they take into account the volume of traffic towards or from Exeter at different times of day. The last lot caused huge queues in one direction most mornings but only a ...
No HuwMatthew2, I didn't say that at all. In fact if you reread my post of 22 Oct at 23.04 you will see that I mention travelling TOWARDS Exeter and said left hand lane for straight on and right hand lane for turning into Sainsbury's or going full circle. So you may have misread that. On Saturday I followed a Nissan Micra from Dawlish all the way to the large roundabout at the far end of ...
Roberta I see that you instantly resort to using names you see as an insult, calling him Gideon. As if he had a choice in the name given to him by his parents. And you also presume that you know my own personal or financial circumstances in that somehow I don't know people who will be affected by the changes. In fact I will be affected by the changes they are bringing in on Tax Credits but I ...
Wonder how many of those 4,600 will then benefit from a rise in the national minimum wage, increase in tax allowances etc etc that is also being brought in. Also wonder how it is ever right for big companies, who past lovely large profits every year, to pay as little as possible to large number of their employees because they know the Government will step in to top up the wages. I ...
Yes how dare the Government try to publicise someone that is of benefit to workers. (And yes that is said with sarcasm) It might be a bit strange as an advertising campaign but it's certainly had some media attention and that might help people to remember the importance of it. If it helps more people to be aware of workplace pensions and the fact that if they pay in their employer also has to ...
I'm sorry but I don't agree. The Highway Codes gives clear rules for left turn, right turn and full circle. For intermediate turns which includes straight on in this case it states that unless signs or markings indicate otherwise then "select the appropriate lane on approach to and on the roundabout" and logically with only 2 exits from the roundabout then the left lane is the appropriate one for ...
