Well I have a postal vote and I've already voted - so the goods news with that is that I can skip all the endless stuff about it on the radio, TV and newspapers and just get on. Job done.
Well it was nice to see that the temporary lights by the wall at Lanherne have now been taken away. And a few days earlier than their previous estimate.
Dawlish is lovely a lot of the time and frankly every town is going to have bits (and people) that aren't lovely. As for expense, well it is no worse than many other places around. There is a good community spirit in both towns although they do have slightly different feels to them. They truly are that idiotic. Huge queues towards Exeter this morning and huge queues from Exeter this evening. It's been like this all week. No-one seems to have any sense when it comes to simple things like this.
I think there must be a surplus of temporary traffic lights in Devon and they've run our of storage so they just keep installing them around Teignmouth and Dawlish as somewhere to put them. I hope they manage to phase them so that they take into account the volume of traffic towards or from Exeter at different times of day. I'm sorry but I don't agree. The Highway Codes gives clear rules for left turn, right turn and full circle. For intermediate turns which includes straight on in this case it states that unless signs or markings indicate otherwise then "select the appropriate lane on approach to and on the roundabout" and logically with only 2 exits from the roundabout then the left lane is the appropriate one for ...
