About Hat Country
Ask any seasoned cowboy and they'll tell you: nothing stays the same but the dirt under your boots and the grit in your gut. HatCountry knows a thing or two about that. Born in a time when folks still shopped roadside stalls and paid in cash, we’ve grown from a humble hat stand in Englishtown, New Jersey to a trusted outfitter for people who live life outdoors—on job sites, backroads, beaches, and everything in between.
Since 1973, we’ve done more than sell hats. We’ve outfitted identity, resilience, and pride—long before Western wear was cool and long after trends moved on. Back in the late '80s, when the rodeo and fair circuits came calling, we loaded up, showed up, and earned the loyalty of a growing crowd of folks who wanted more than fast fashion and hollow brands. They wanted real gear for real life. So that’s what we gave them.
And when the internet dusted up in the early 2000s, we didn’t flinch. We went digital in 2002—not to chase clout, but to stay connected to the people we serve. From that moment on, no matter where you hang your hat—from Montana to Miami—you’ve been able to count on HatCountry to get you outfitted fast, right, and with gear that fits like it was made for you.
Today, we run our operations out of North Carolina, shipping from multiple warehouses coast-to-coast. Our shelves are stocked with the best from brands like Stetson, Ariat, Resistol, Minnetonka, Bullhide, and Dan Post—because we only carry what we’d wear ourselves. From straw lifeguard hats and rugged work gear to city-slicking fedoras and wide-brimmed stunners built for the beach, our selection reflects real people living real lives under the sun.
But through all the growth, our backbone hasn’t changed. We’re still family-run. Still customer-driven. Still packing every order with the kind of care you’d expect from a neighbor who knows what fits, what lasts, and what feels right. Because at the end of the day, this isn’t just about Western wear. It’s about outfitting confidence. About showing up for your day—and yourself—with gear that’s as bold, hardworking, and full of heart as you are.
We're not here to chase trends. We're here to blaze our own trail. And as long as there are people out there who need gear that works hard, wears well, and tells a story—we’ll keep showing up, hat first. Website: https://www.hatcountry.com/.
