Writer Marlene Zaedyan is of Armenian heritage and was born in Lebanon. Her family's history is marked by forced migration after the Armenian Genocide. Her book, Nine Lives Endless Dreams: A Survivor's Story of Genocide and War, is around the themes of resilience and survival, which she got a deep and sensitive understanding of while growing up during the Lebanese Civil War.
Beyond her literary career, Marlene is a happy grandma of two, a loving mother of two sons with special needs, and a daughter. She and her cherished puppy, Mango, live together. She is married.
