Hi i am wondering if there was any special groups for autist children in dawlish or teignmouth. my son is currently going through an assessment and wondered if there was any other mums or dads going through the same thing.
Why not ask at the local schools they might be able to help? We have two schools that actually deal with students who have special needs.
Still think assessment team should have info. Don't care where they are based - they should have info concerning the whole of Devon.
be good if you could spell what your child was being assessed for but anyway that doesnt matter.
AIMS is a group for families with special needs children, they meet on a saturday at sure start bugalow , westcliff school dawlish.
Also there are parents of autistic children in Dawlish maybe you could set up your own little group.
I work with children with ASD very rewarding love my job.
i didnt think about AIMS, ill check it out thanks. my son is being assessed for autism/adhd and aspergus but we are not sure when we will get a diagonis etc. once i have i am looking into setting up a group

for which, no doubt, the council will take the credit!
Mouse - take a look at page 16 in this week's (13.06.08) Dawlish Post. There is an advert there from the South Devon Aspergers Group. Tel Kate Jenkins 01626 770143 for more info.
