No cpso's to take care of this then?

Two police officers were hurt as they dealt with an incident at a Dawlish pub on Tuesday afternoon. They were called at around 1.30pm to a report of a verbally abusive and threatening man refusing to leave a pub.

Police say the man became 'extremely aggressive' and lunged at them.

In a statement they said one officer suffered a grazed shin and a bruised elbow, and another was headbutted, suffering a bruised and swollen nose.

The officer was examined at Dawlish hospital but was able to complete his shift.

A 45-year-old man from the Newton Abbot area was arrested on suspicion of assaulting police and causing fear or provocation of violence. He was taken to Torquay Custody Centre.

Dawlish is lawless now. The town is desperately in need of policing.

Dawlish is by no means lawless. One incident and everyone is up in arms.
Pub brawls have always gone on, I rmemeber outside Smokey Joes years ago there was a stabbing. It isnt right but dont make out Dawlish is worse than it is.

The one Police officer we have since they transferred the other out when CCTV was installed stated at a council meeting that he goes off duty at 10pm as do the CSPO's and CCTV is hardly ever monitored but even when it is any problem that is happening is all over, and the participants have gone home by the time Officers arrive (if they ever do) from Teignmouth/Newton Abbot/Exeter. Just remembered they cannot (CCTV) see at night.

WELL SPENT DAWLISH TOWN COUNCIL, BUT STILL IT WAS NEVER YOUR MONEY SO THATS OK.

jambuster says, "WELL SPENT DAWLISH TOWN COUNCIL, BUT STILL IT WAS NEVER YOUR MONEY SO THATS OK."

Just like the article on the front page Dawlish Post, 23 May 2008.
(Cheques handed out by town mare.)
Not her money it is yours, but I bet it maid her feel more important that she is. It doesn't say how much, but I believe it is around £5000 of tax-payers money given to causes that many may not agree with.

HOW MANY DULLISONIANS HAVE BEEN TO THE MUSEUM TO SE THE MARES HATS?

Rainbow - are you saying that you disagree with money being handed out full stop, or that you disagree with money being handed out to those causes that received them?

I thought local taxes were collected to provide services for all of us and not provide for charities of some other persons choice.

Money dished out for local items----- new seating, repair of footpaths/roads, the upkeep of LA properties etc, are what I consider to be needy causes for the taxes we pay.

There is an estimated 168,000 registered charities in this country, why should one person have the right to spend tax-payers money on charities of their choice?

Bitter pill to swallow for some maybe, but it is only for self esteem that charities are financed in this way.

After all, the mayor of Dawlish is given the badge of honour by fifteen other councillors and not by the electorate, so why should that most distinguished (tounge in cheek) person be given the right to spend our money in a single handed way.

Do what they like with their own money!!!!! but don't do what they like with ours!!!!!!

I want to know why Younger Ross argues against the £173,000 the BBC contribute to the Eurovision Song Contest, when he says nothing about the large sum of money wasted by Dawlish Town Council on CCTV?

Could it be that he is bedfellows with Mayor and Councillor Protheroe? No doubt they are in each other's pockets....voting without prejudice of course.....

the money handed out by esteemed mayor is not tax payers money it is our Council Tax, which is supposed to be used for out town.
