I read with interest some of the forums which have preceeded this one and note a common theme to mos. That Dawlish is a sad little seaside town with not much going for it, o come on i hear you cry, what do you mean Guba Gee, we have a outstanding lawn area used exclusivly by the carnival and numourus fairs and charity gaverings, Guba Gee do not DARE to suggest using this wonderfull area for the DAWLISH people (or even DAWLISH yougsters) you must be crazy. Guba Gee go on tell us about all the wonderfull hotels in the town for people to stay in, go on tell us, oh dont then, there isn't time. Tell us about the wonderfull community spirt in DAWLISH Guba Gee go on tell us SORRY folks did you miss it. I did and I HAVE. What has happened to this lovely little place called Dawlish use the top part of the lawn for a play park for kids, have community get enterprise and spirit, back locals (and i mean locals) ideas and wishes, give us back some pride in dawlish. Stop the destruction of this place, if we need more houses DARE then back it, assist it, mould it into something, a place where our children will want to stay and move Dawlish out of the black hole it has sunk into. I feel the devils footprints will appear again soon if nothing is done. yours GUBA GEE
Good Morning.
I feel a bit like Dracula or Rumpelstiltskin! But yes, I am still alive and well!
Guba Gee.Hmmm.Took a little digesting this one, initially, due to suspect grammar? Had to read it 2 or 3 times. But Hey,this is a discussion forum, let's not criticise spelling and punctuation!!!! Been there and done that in a previous life.
Similar views have been aired before, many moons ago. You're either for Dawlish or against it. No in between.
Anyhow, let us sit back and see what the folk of Dawlish think.
Might be a long wait, if previous form is anything to go on.
Well, i'm hoping to move to Dawlish soon. Got an offer in on a house and i'm just waiting to sell mine. Compared to where I live now I can't think of many nicer places to bring kids up in. OK, there might not be tonnes to do in Dawlish itself, but it's not exactly a long drive to the larger towns and cities nearby and there's a lovely sense of community about the place.
I'm from the Midlands by the way - lovely place....if you like factories.
