I have recently visited another town and saw their skate park. I have to say that it was an eyesore. Covered in graffiti, it did nothing but lower the tone of the whole area in which it was situated.
I fear for the Sandy Lane Playing Fields. The skatepark should be located somewhere else. Near to Sandy Lane Playing Fields perhaps, but not on them. James Plantation area perhaps?
I hope I am proved wrong - but I fear not.
Some graphiti is very artistic a way around
this problem is allowing the kids to paint it
A Skate park is needed the kids get exercise
they are not sitting in front of a computer
or annoying all the moaners and groaners on
the lawn.
Maybe if these kids should be given a bit more
respect I am a pensioner and have never had
any trouble from kids just the reverse
I wasn't complaining about teenagers. I was complaining about the location of the proposed skate park.
Whilst graffiti may be art it is also enviromentally damaging and offensive. And it DOES drag down any area in which it is found.
Art is in the eye of the beholder.
I agree about the location I would have rather
have seen it where the bolwling green is on
the lawn far more entertaining
Wrong, kids are the future. It is the parents that should take more responsibility for their children, not burden others with the problems that their children create.
In broad day light, I witnessed children that had just come out of school, trying to knock over the bus stop pole at the Catholic Church. What would they have done if they had succeeded/ thrown it in the road I suppose.
Viaduct - suggest you inform the school of the kids' behaviour re the bus stop pole.
I also witnessed bad behaviour some time back on a bus. I told the school, words were had with the offenders.
