Hello, is anyone out there?

Is anybody alive?

Hello!!!

Here's a poem I wrote years back when I worked in a large drawing office. I can relate this to Dawlish.

Sad time for all mankind
The summer is melting away so fast
Harvest and autumn will soon be past
Where does it go, I just don't know
How I long for the sun and the peaceful days
Where one can dream alone, asleep in the shade.

Now its the winter
and the freezing cold
No joy for anyone
now its taken a hold,
Bare fields and trees
are all that one sees
as we sit trapped inside
nowhere to hide.

Let's not be down hearted, lest we be parted
and think ahead to the good days in store
when summer returns and we weep no more,
Sunshine and showers with pretty flowers
and lots of fun as we play in the sun.

There, that's another year gone.

What a load of old rubbish!!!

Very nice.
Yes it certainly feels at times (maybe all the time?) that no one else is alive in Dawlish. I don't understand, with a population of 11000, how a place can be so lacking in energy. And it seems to be getting WORSE!!
