Since when? Considering a healthy proportion of young adults in Dawlish are gay/bi or curious there ain't much room for bigotry.
Or is this a case of 'I'm the only gay in the village?'
best bet is to post ya email on here, then the ones intrested will contact u, but yer most are agaisnt it
Absolute rubbish. I have never lived in a town that has so many gay/lesbians. There are loads and from what I see they are accepted very well.
a very good friend of mine often comes down to dawlish to visit me and stays for a few days. she is black and has never comented on encountering any racism towards her. also a couple of gentlemen i am good friends with run a b&b together and they also have never expressed any discrimination towards them. obviously we will get a few bigots posting on this forum, but as everyone who knows me, i am dawlish old school and proud to be and i think i generally represent the views of the wider community.
Lol, well, I'm 17 and gay, and living in Devon -not just Dawlish- is hard as it is such a small community. Everybody knows everyone's business- believe me! There are mixed reviews- alot of people are bigots with outdated views, but I think I notice it more because Dawlish is such a small place. There are some really genuine, close-knit people too. If you want to know anything, let me know! x
Dont know where you go but I have encountered a lot of racism in this town have fallen ot with people over it.
The bigots round here havent got the nerve to say it face to face to someone from a different race.
Go to the thread about Paradise Palace its mentioned there.
Never understood it myself as there are very few people from different races here.
I have lived and worked in London people from different races have a lot to offer
I am Gay and I have lived in Dawlish for over 20 year(s). I have found the people of Dawlish to be very 'Gay friendly'. Of course there are those that are homophobic but they are very much in the minority. As a gay Man I find Dawlish a very comfortable place to live! The Landsdowne on a Saturday night is certainly a very cosmopolitan place to be.
