A PUBLIC notice issued by Teignbridge Council advertising the ‘disposal’ of some assets has caused outrage. The assets names in the notices are: Cromwell Way, Bovey Tracey; Palace Meadow, Chudleigh; Morningside, Dawlish; Heath Close, Heath Hill, Prince Rupert Way and Naseby Drive, Heathfield; and Ashburton Road and Courtenay Park, Newton Abbot.

Rosie dawson critisizes the teignbridge council .? Surely as she is in the civic amenities group she should be more aware of this announcement or is this a case of cover your a* r s* before the fallout. We are being asked to vote on 25th june between the looney green party and the local incompetent lib dem party in dawlish, can it get any worse with this mob in charge.?

Nobody is being asked to vote. The majority of the adult population won't vote, if they're even registered to do so.
The above concerns Teignbridge District Council. The Dawlish SW by-election on the 25th with x2 candidates, a Green and a Lib Dem, is for the Town Council.
The other Dawlish SW by-election on the 25th for the District Council involves x4 candidates, just in case anyone didn't know exactly what they would be spoiling.
The Lib Dems no longer have control of Dawlish Town Council - that's why they are desperate to get Gary Taylor elected to redress the imbalance. They had 10 Cllrs after the 2023 election, they now have 6 and are hoping to make it 7. There are a total of 16 Cllrs, so they no longer have a majority, although they are the largest party.
The Lib Dems are still the majority party in Teignbridge District Council, but a Teignmouth District Cllr left the party to stand as an independent and then this vacancy opened because of the death of Dawlish District Lib Dem Cllr Mike James.
The Lib Dems currently only have a majority by 1 Cllr in the District Council, so they are also desperate to regain this seat. and they cannot afford any other Councillors leaving. This is probably yet another factor why Wrigley has held onto his District Cllr position for so long. As local Lib Dem party leader he needs to maintain control.
It's clear who the most spoilt votes would benefit in both of these by-elections.
