Pit Bulls,should the breed be wiped out?
Ive just read a horrible story about a recient case involving pit bull fighting. It is on a google search under 'gypsy the pit bull'.
I have for a long time thought that due to so many irrisponsible dog owners and situations like this happening this breed should be wiped out. The dog was only found last month and the owners dumped her in that state to die. ITS HORRIFIC.
Being a major dog lover this has left me very upset (i stumbled across it)and wanting to demand a chaange in the law.
Look at this story and Im sure even the most hardened dog hater would feel pain for this poor dog!!!!!!!!! and the people of Dawlish fuss about dog poop.
This is such a small part of the world and we are so lucky. But too many people forget just how lucky they really are livng here in this beautifull part of the world.
PS. I used to post here regulary under a different name but it got so petty and sad that I no longer bother.

Of course, they'd rather not be regarded as fighting dogs.
But in the absence of that - they'd prefer to be dead? No, I don't think so.
Its like saying that given the choice of living in Dawlish or being decapitated, you'd choose decapitation rather than move to Ashburton.
If you are able to read properly, I was asking a general qusetion about the breed, to get some feedback on what other people think about this subject.

As I said before I stopped posting due to this type of mentality! More fool me to think that possible things had changed.

yes blondie, I've given up! There seems little point in taking time to post comments on life in Dawlish when there is no response. I have said before that its a shame that no one uses a resource like this - and a puzzle. Whats the mattter with people here? Is it the sea fog that does something to people brains?
Planning on coming to Dawlish soon and wanted to meet up at the Smugglers !

Seems in every decent discussion that seems to be started on this site that someone with the verbal skills and mentality of Vicky Pollard seems to want to jump in.
Anyway great site here and again i see the few same names propping up that can hold a debate without wanting to club each other over the head.
Anyway my Opinion on Pitbulls:-
Yes the Pitbull doesnt have much choice at all when it is unleashed to the fight in the street or "Pit"(Pitbull),but thats the problem there.The breed in general has never had a choice as to what it has been genetically bred to to which is just to win irresponsible, evil, scummy human beings money.Every part of the dog has been designed to come out on top in a Pit fight including its mentality.
It does come down to it being the fault of irresponsible owners, but this doesnt change the fact that this dog has been designed to kill and not designed as a pet.
People are within their right to pick whatever dog they like as a pet but why pick a killer when you can pick a lifelong intellegent companion thats bloodlines has only ever been designed to help its owner and its owners family with only food and shelter and care in return.
If you have a family and bring one of these gentically bred monsters home thinking you can use it to show " Öw ard" you are but still think it safe around your kids-Think again-You wouldnt bring a pet Tiger home nor would we ever try to breed them as pets.
The only humane solution would be if no-one brought these design fault dogs to cut out the demand and make the breeders see no point in breeding them-That way no dogs are killed but the breed dies out.Unfortunately there will always be evil peopl out there so this solution will never work, so instead we are falsed to kill the dogs one by one in a very slow process in response to tiny toddlers being ripped apart one by one.
Being the member of 3 differnt canine associations including a national association and a REGISTERED breeder makes me sad that it has come to this, but from the day back street bookies and crooks started designing this breed it was inevitable that eventually the responsible people would be left with the tough deceision of having to exterminate this breed.Banning the breed is the only solution thats going to actually work, so yes the breed should be wiped out.
