A 27-year-old man arrested after incidents in Teignmouth and Dawlish on Monday night has been charged and will appear in court today (November 26). ‘Connor Sidell, of no fixed abode, Teignmouth, has been charged with Section 18 wounding with intent, robbery, criminal damage and two counts of theft.

Is this the same man? or just some one else with the same name as the age does not seem to be the same.
Connor Sidell, a man with a history of criminal activity, was involved in a significant incident in Dawlish in April 2023. He was caught during a burglary at a house in Regent Street after tripping on the stairs, which alerted the homeowner who initially thought he was her son returning from a night out. Sidell, aged 25 at the time, fled the scene but was later found hiding under the victim's car on the driveway. He was apprehended after a police dog tracked him and was subsequently jailed for two years at Exeter Crown Court for burglary. The raid occurred at 4 am, and Sidell had armed himself with a knife from the kitchen before going upstairs, causing serious psychological trauma to the victim. He was also found to have stolen a variety of items, including a computer, laptops, cash, passports, and multiple weapons such as a Bowie knife, Kukri knives, and an air pistol. Sidell had a history of criminal offences, with 41 previous crimes on his record, including 15 thefts, and was using illicitly sourced painkillers at the time of the incident. He was also given a five-year restraining order to stay away from the victim.
Prior to this incident, Sidell had been wanted on recall to prison in March 2022 after his licence was revoked due to convictions for possession of a bladed article, common assault of an emergency worker, common assault, and burglary of a non-dwelling. He was located and returned to custody in March 2022. In September 2023, Sidell, now aged 28, was sentenced to a three-year community order with 80 hours of unpaid work and rehabilitation activities after admitting to breaching a restraining order. At that time, he had become a father and had started working as a chef, which influenced the judge to impose a community order instead of jail. The judge emphasized the importance of setting a positive example for his daughter.
